Where I Started
A short time ago, in a galaxy very nearby, there was an aspiring author from Cleveland, Ohio (yep, that’s me). I bet you’re wondering how I got here…
Before I knew I wanted to be a clinician, I dreamed of being the next Stephen King. Plans changed, but my passion for stories of transformation and triumph remained.
Fast forward a few years, and my experiences as a collegiate coach, wellness professional, and volunteer camp director helped me construct a unique perspective on well-being, health, and transformation. So, after spending a few years honing my skills in community mental health agencies, I founded CURA.
My Mission
It’s my passion to walk with people motivated to live better, more authentic lives.
CURA allows me to provide opportunities for people to show up for themselves, exchange unwanted habits for healthier ones, and build the life they’ve always dreamed of.
(I think Lois, my 135-lb. Great Dane-Mastiff may agree, but honestly, she sleeps most of the day, so who knows?)
What We Do
To be my client is to buckle up for a wild ride that is sometimes uncomfortable but always entertaining and, in the end, completely worth it.
Have you ever purchased clothes just because they’re on sale? Maybe they weren’t your style and didn’t fit right, but they were “fine”… yeah, me, too. Sometimes, we do the same thing regarding how we live and interact; it’s called masking.
What would it be like to clean up your closet? Consider me Marie Kondo; your closet is your bank of strategies, behaviors, patterns, and skills you’ve collected over time to camouflage yourself and exist in uncomfortable spaces.
How I Work
First, we’ll evaluate your “wardrobe.” Next, we’ll give away the things that don’t inspire joy or feel genuine. Then, we’ll learn to shop for new clothes that authentically fit you and your personality. By the end, you’ll be hailed as the best-dressed person you know.
Sessions tend to be interactive, informative, systemic, and organic as we move from primitive concepts to more sophisticated ones.
Together, we’ll create a dynamic treatment plan and practice reframing problems into opportunities demonstrating your strengths and needs. In other words, we have fun; rather than talk, we tell stories.
Create the Life You Want
Well done. If you’ve made it this far, you’re ready to rock and roll.
Whatever you’re seeking, I am willing to bet that you’ve been seeking it for some time, and your search is over.
Remember, this is YOUR life, so to get the most out of it, it’s time for you to take the lead.
