Late Diagnosis ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder,
and Neurodivergence

1361068541So you’re neurodivergent. Congratulations!

It probably doesn’t feel like a gift right now.

But buckle up because neurodivergence is your superpower, and “with great power comes great responsibility.”

So, before we unleash you onto the world, we have work to do.

Individual therapy has four phases: gathering, learning, evaluating, and practicing.

Gathering: What does it mean to be YOU and to be neurodivergent? Let’s explore the ways you’ve been able to achieve so much under so much distress.

Learning: Did you know that various types of neurodivergent conditions have their own levels of hormones and ways of creating pathways?

Evaluating: Your system has found ways of coping and learning to regulate that are “effective” in that they get the job done (masking). Are there other more authentic, effective, and manageable ways to do it? Let’s evaluate.

Practice: You’ve got a concert coming up next month. Let’s go over your plan. [Cut to: one month later.] It sounds like the plan helped you manage your sensory needs! Success! Now, let’s talk about ways to improve the plan for next time.

Let’s work together.

Individual counseling is NOT meant to be forever. It is intended to help you set your sights on a goal that is meaningful to you and make strides toward achieving it.

You’ll do this on your own, with your own powers and capabilities. After all, you know yourself better than anyone else.

Equipped with the right tools, systems, and support, you will be unstoppable. Reach out now and see just how powerful you truly are.
